Gymnastics
ages 6 - 18
RGA offers 36 weeks of gymnastics instruction from mid-September to mid-June,
plus summer programs and camps. A student can either sign up for a 9 week Session
or for the full 36 weeks (Yearly Enrollment). Gymnasts receive one or more hours per week of instruction in an appropriate student/teacher ratio. Each gymnast is grouped by age and ability.
A group re-evaluation for proper placement is performed by an instructor in the first one or two classes attended. Returning students will be placed in classes according to previous Star Levels achieved. Gymnasts can register for the time and day desired for their level - subject to availability.
An average class will begin with a large group warm-up, followed by stretching with their assigned instructor. Then the gymnast will be instructed through participation on two or three events per lesson (for example): Floor, Beam and Trampoline one week and Vault, Bars, and Tumble Track the following week.
Each week the events rotate so that the gymnast receives instruction on all apparatus.
